Hanabi was focused. Intensely concentrated on her moves, on every muscle that was moving, every breath, every heartbeat. Kick, swing, jump, drop, roll, sweeping kick, and a defensive back-roll. Panting, she brushed her hair out of her eyes, assuming a simple cross-legged position on the grass, quieting her body in the after-practice meditative state Sensei had taught them, instructing them to use the position after each exercise. She inhaled, enjoying the scents of the park that the breeze carried. Here, this was her home away from home. Outside, around trees, and the evergreens were beautiful this year.
She opened her eyes, and saw something very unusual. A butterfly, one of the rare kind that were known to be around for the winter, but hardly ever seen. It had landed on her books nearby. and as she watched, it fluttered its way over to her, coming to a graceful perch on her knee. She hardly dared to breathe, it was so beautiful and very amazing. She didn't want to ruin the moment.

Distantly walking into the park, Shino's what now seemed like daily visit to the park, even as the days got colder. Taking a look around within his tinted glasses, he took a look around, everyone was at peace, the flowers were growing, what were left of the insects were buzzing around happily, Shino took into notice on how many were left, as he strolled through the park in what seemed to be his normal mood. He then took notice of a girl, what looked almost of his age, sitting down on the grass, just laying there, when along came a butterfly, magnificent in its color. looking down a bit, he noticed it fly onto her. Without any doubts, he walked up to her, and crouched down. "What a magnificent species of butterfly this is, quit rare in fact, its a Tailed Cercropian. Its white complexion helps it blend in with the snow whenever its necessary." He held out a finger as the butterfly gently flew up to it and proudly stood on the tip of it. Looking at the girl, he gave a small smile through his jacket. "Apologize ma'm, the name is Shino Aburame, and who might you be?"

Hanabi would have jumped when Shino appeared, but she didn't want to disturb the butterfly. And besides, she had seen him in the library a lot, reading. Anyone who read as many books as she did was a friend of hers. And he didn't seem to be anyone who was threatening, at least not now. She was sure there were probably at least a couple people who had upset Shino, but she had never been around. He had been quiet enough to come up beside her, but then again, she had been focusing on her practicing. She really needed to work on being aware of her surroundings at the same time, she mused.
Looking up at Shino, amazed by his knowledge about the butterfly, she smiled. "That's pretty neat. How do you know so much about it?" She offered a hand when he introduced himself. "I'm Hanabi Hyuuga. It's nice to meet you, Shino-sama." she said politely.

As the woman held out her hand when she intoduced herself to him, Shino gently shook hers back. Hanabi seemed like a kind creature, however, even the most kindest creatures need to be kept under well observation, otherwise they'll run wild, Shino took note of that. The woman stated to him how he new so much on the species of butterfly, he grinned a little, however, in his over high jacket she was unable to see. "There a very special breed of butterfly. Some thought they went extinct. I'm just fascinated by the earth and its creatures, youd be surprised at what can be beautiful, and what can be deadly, and in some cases, both." He gently nudged the butterfly off of his finger, however, it simply fluttered onto his shoulder, standing out clearly on his light green jacket. "Its a pleasure to meet you, Miss Hyuuga." Observing her posture, it was quite obvious she did not come here for relaxation, also containing the reasoning behind the humidity of her hand during the hand shake. "If i must say, you did not come here do relax, now did you?"

Hanabi smiled at the butterfly, watching it move to Shino's jacket. "It seems to have taken a liking to you. Looks like you have a new friend, Shino-sama."
So this was the mysterious Shino Aburame that the other girls had been talking about while they were supposed to be studying in the library. She had seen him a few times, but had never actually had any interaction with him. It was nice to meet someone else who seemed quiet, but nice.
She thought he might have smiled at her question, but because his jacket's tall collar covered the lower part of his face, she couldn't be sure. She thought she could almost sense one, though.
"I was actually practicing my Martial Arts for my after-school class. I was doing the meditative pose Sensei taught us. She stretched, releasing any tension or stress in muscles. "It's actually really nice to use at the end of the practice. Quiet, calming, and the park is beautiful to listen to."

Shino noticed her eyes move towards his shoulder, the butterfly must have landed there. "Not surprising. Why you may ask? I have a slight.. connection with insects." She began talking about her martial arts class, and how she was in the middle of meditation, then began to speak of how refreshing the park was. Shino had to agree, if he wasn't putting his nose in a book, or observing his collection of beetles, he would come here and just relax, and hopefully find some new specimen. But it seems today, he caught something to big to put in a case. "Interesting.. you say you take Martial Arts huh? quite an important class if I do say so myself. Just be careful who you say that to. Why? Because it could leave you open. He then placed a finger on her forehead. Her skin was smooth to the touch, yet she had just been practicing, which gave it a radiation of warmth. Putting his finger away and back to his lap, he gave her a kind look underneath his glasses. "Well, enough of that. You must be tired, huh?"

Hanabi smiled at Shino's explanation. He was quiet when he spoke, but a calming quiet. Not a menacing quiet like some people did when talking quietly. "A kin-ship with them, of sorts?" she queried. Even more clues to the mysterious Shino. She wondered if he enjoyed the park as much as she did, even though she usually came here to practice her skills. She did like climbing the trees, though. She smiled.
"Open? To what? Attack, or ridicule?" she asked, curious.
He caught her by surprise when he touched her forehead. His finger was slightly cooler than the warmth she was feeling from her exercise, but it made her feel warmer regardless. A simple touch, but he was gentle about it. And nice, not scary. She felt her face growing warmer, and ducked her head, shy. He was a nice person... she was surprised when he looked at her from under his glasses. She had never seen his eyes before.
"Tired? I guess so.." she stretched, shifting her position.

He gave Hanabi a nod when she said kin-ship. Shino and animals have always had some sort of connection, possibly that feeling of quietness, that nobody understands between them. Whatever this case must be, its what the truth would be, and what it can be. Hearing what she would say before he touched her made the feeling even more special. He decided not to say anything else about that subject, seeing as her blushing, shy personality had just shown, which made her seem more vulnerable, he took that into note.
He stayed motionless for awhile, as she switched her position a bit, exclaiming her tiredness. He then began sitting down instead of crouching, and continued to have a thorough conversation. "All that blood rushing to your head, I would expect you to get a little tired."" Pushing up his glasses, he enjoyed messing with people, and it helped when she seemed like a friend.

Hanabi smiled, looking at Shino. He was a nice person, she could tell that much. He seemed very in tune with nature and its inhabitants. When he sat down beside her, and mentioned blood rushing to her head, she ducked her head again, blushing. She was smiling, though. He seemed to be enjoying this, and she didn't mind. It didn't seem like he was doing it in a mean way, so she simply relaxed her position, setting her elbows on her knees and resting her chin in her hand.
"You're a very interesting person, Shino-sama. You are unlike any person I've met at school so far." she said, smiling shyly. There was something about him that was familiar, seemed to make a connection. "What kinds of animals do you like best?"

Pushing up his glasses, yet again, Shino realized that somehow, she seemed to like him messing with her, it was fun in its self as well, but I guess you could say it was inappropriate, but it was still fun, seeing as he never got to do this to other people, especially his age, considering how people find him.. different. It didn't matter to him, he loved how he treated people, its what really split him from the crowd.
He put his hands in his pockets, as Hanabi started talking, it would be interesting to what her opinion on him would be. Her smile could not have been any wider when she.. complimented him, well, at least she knew the right way to compliment him. Then she asked him, what he never thought would pop up. Blowing out a large peice of air from his nose and making a slight humming sound."Well you see, little red face, i'm more of a insect person, and choosing a favorite is exactly like choosing the fate of a loved one. Why? Because each and every connection we have is unfavorable, at least for me. You, on the other hand, seem to have one most favorable, perhaps your willing to share what it is?"

Hanabi realized that Shino knew that she didn't mind him teasing her. She was also a little surprised to find that she herself was enjoying the discussion. She smiled, watching him. He really was something else. In a nice way. She tilted her head, studying a flower that was growing by her feet. "Well, I like butterflies. But I like other animals, too. Mainly gentle ones, like deer, or rabbits, or cats." She looked at him. "You'll probably think this silly, but I am fascinated with tigers, too."

Shino, lost in a daze, began listening to Hanabi talk about her favorite animals, such them being kind animals, that did tie up, as she seems like as she settles down, she's a shy person. Shino was quite cautious about the subject, as anything could set anybody off. He just sat there, quietly, taking every detail around him into notice, even the small flower, which she seemed to be occupied at looking at.
She turned to him, it seemed she wanted his honest opinion. it was quite interesting..he pushed up his glasses a bit as they started to slip. "Tigers huh? Not surprised. There brave, strong, fearless, and caring to there kin. Quite a fascinating creature it is. I'm fond of it myself."

Hanabi watched Shino curiously, enjoying the time they were spending in the park. He was an interesting person, more interesting than most people she had met, not that she had met many people. When you're a Freshman, it's not easy to meet everybody. But she was going to try and make friends.
She smiled as he spoke about tigers. He too, it seemed, had a liking for them. She looked at him, smiling as she pushed his glasses back up on his face before they slid off. "I like them because they are bold, brave, and valiantly defend their family. They can be wild, ferocious. And yet, they can also be quiet, docile."
She oddly felt the need to poke him back for poking her forehead. But she wasn't sure if she should..

Shino, shocked because the woman pushed up his glasses for him. looking down, he left out a small smile. She seemed to be intrigued by the way he acted, it seemed to.. enjoy his company, most people did not. She began explaining why she loved tigers in deep description. He had noted each one, as sooner or later he would find all those characteristics inside hanabi. Letting out a slight breath he decided to lay back. This defenseless position was comfortable to Shino, and it gave him a nice clean and clear view at the sky, at least, a dim version of the sky, due to the tinted glasses.

Hanabi smiled, seeing Shino's surprise and his return smile at her pushing up his glasses for him. It was the least she could do, she figured. She watched him lie down on his back in the grass, and followed his example.
The stars, the ones you could see through the trees, were beautiful here. Because there was less interference and glare from city lights, the night sky shone with a scatter of diamonds in it, spread as far as the eye could see. She sighed, enjoying the cool breeze. It wasn't quite chilly yet, but it was getting that way. It would, soon.
Glancing at Shino, she saw that he was enjoying the view too. Or he at least looked like he was. A question popped into her head. She wasn't sure she wanted to ask it. It was so peaceful and quiet here..she didn't want to do a whole lot of talking. She was sure he didn't prefer lots of talking, either. Simple silence and enjoyment of nature.
